Horowitz Selected to Serve on Leading Age's Board of Directors
Steven J. Horowitz, President and CEO of Saint Elizabeth Community, has been named to the LeadingAge board of directors. He will assume a 3 year term beginning in January 2013.
Horowitz was selected by the LeadingAge Nominations and Awards Committee after being nominated by another LeadingAge member. The 24 person board of directors represents the membership and exercises leadership in the establishment of goals and objectives for the association. The board is also responsible for monitoring and evaluating organizational performance and effectiveness.
LeadingAge is an association of 6,000 not-for-profit organizations in the United States, 39 state partners, hundreds of businesses, research partners, consumer organizations, foundations and a broad global network of aging services organizations that reach over 30 countries. The work of LeadingAge is focused on advocacy, education, and applied research with the goal of expanding the world of possibilities for aging.
Steven J. Horowitz is President and Chief Executive Officer of Saint Elizabeth Community(www.stelizabethcommunity.com). Since assuming this leadership role in 1998 Horowitz has spearheaded significant growth within the Saint Elizabeth Community(SEC) which now has ten Rhode Island locations, including two skilled nursing and rehab centers, affordable assisted living, two affordable apartment buildings for seniors, and adults with disabilities, and five adult day centers. Horowitz oversees 20 managers, 500 support staff.
