Judith Ann Montalvo, worked at RWU; active in cancer fundraising events

Judith Ann Montalvo, 55, of Loveland Street, Bristol, died Monday Dec. 20, 2010, at her home following a three-year battle with cancer.

She was the wife of Wilfred Montalvo, her husband of 38 years. Born and raised in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie (Mc Gregor) Prosser.

Judy worked for Roger Williams University in the dining room services for 10 years. She was an avid fundraiser for Breast Cancer and the Making Strides Walks held in Boston and Providence, and had also been active with the Mt. Hope High School Band Parents group in the past.

She is survived by three daughters, Judyann Montalvo, Maria Furtado and her husband Christopher, and Melissa Montalvo, all of Bristol. She also leaves brothers William and Thomas Prosser; Thomas, Charles, Paul and Edward Knuth; and two sisters, Mary and Elsie Knuth. She also had three grandchildren, Alaina Furtado, Antonio Planas, and Wilson Menezes.

Her funeral will be Thursday at 9 am. from Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home 615 Main Street, Warren RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. in St. Mary of the Bay Church 645 Main St., Warren, RI. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Hope Street Bristol RI.
