The 64th annual Miss Fourth of July Pageant and the 16th annual Little Miss Fourth of July Pageant will take place on Saturday, May 19, at 7 PM at the Mt. Hope High School Performing Arts Center.

Eleven young ladies between the ages of 16 and 20 will be vying for the title of Miss Fourth of July 2012 and 15 girls, ages 7 to 9, will be competing for the Little Miss Fourth of July crown.  

The pageant will begin with a dance routine performed by the 26 contestants. Elizabeth Jernigan is the pageant’s choreographer. Students from Extensions School of Dance will be performing two dance selections during the show.

Cassandra Guercia and Peyton Perroni, Miss and Little Miss Fourth of July 2011, respectively, will lead the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance, which will be followed by the singing of our National Anthem by soloist Ava Callery. The Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening will be Mary Lou Palumbo.

Each contestant will be judged in three separate categories: private interviews with four judges, poise/appearance, and response to a question on stage.
In all, eight young ladies will preside over the 2012 Bristol Fourth of July Celebration: Miss Fourth of July and her court of four runners-up and Little Miss Fourth of July and her court of two runners-up. Each winner and court member will receive prizes that have been donated by local merchants. In addition, the Miss Fourth of July contestants will select one young lady to receive the Miss Congeniality award.

Prior to the crowning of the new Miss and Little Miss Fourth of July, Cassandra Guercia and Peyton Perroni will give farewell speeches.  

Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children 10 and under and will be available at the door.
