State Education Chief Deborah Gist Here Monday Night to Explain School Funding Formula

State Education Commissioner Deborah Gist will be at Mt. Hope High School tonight, Jan. 31, 2011, to talk about the state funding formula and how it will affect our school district.

This special meeting of the Bristol-Warren Regional School Committee meeting is Monday, Jan. 31, at 7:00 PM,  in the Mt. Hope High School Auditorium.  Commissioner Gist and her staff will present detailed information and  answer questions regarding the funding formula and its impact on the Bristol Warren Regional School District.  The town leaders and the state legislators of Bristol and Warren will be attending.

School Superintendent Melinda Thies will be conducting a briefing session for parents and members of the community to explain the complexities of the funding formula and exactly what it means to Bristol Warren. This session will be held just before the meeting with the Commissioner – on Monday, January 31, 6:15 PM, in the Library of Mt. Hope High School

 

The School Committee and the Superintendent encourage local parents to attend.
