5 Things: Debate, Pumpkin Carving Contest

Here are 5 Things to know in Bristol and Warren today.

 


1. President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney face off for the final time before the Nov. 6 election. Join other political enthusiasts at a debate party tonight at 8 at Salve Regina University, O'Hare Academic Center, Bazarsky Lecture Hall, 100 Ochre Point Ave, Newport. If you know of another debate party tonight, add it to the comments section below and the article will be updated.

2. The six-week Blithewold Junior Gardener program, for children in grades 1 to 4, continues today at 3:45 p.m. The program is designed to get kids outside after school, and to encourage them to have fun playing and learning in the gardens. The program will get young gardeners into the art and science of gardening through hands-on garden projects, tasks and experiments. 

The cost for the series is $45 for members, $50 for non-members. Drop-In: $8 for members, $10 for non-members.
