The Town of Bristol was not prepared for the human side of emergency management. The town did a very poor job of informing the residents about where to find shelter. This information should be readily available online before homes and cell phone towers lose their power. After the outage at least use facebook to keep people informed. Also, when your only shelter is located on a steep, ice-covered hill, keeping that street sanded should be a priority. Chestnut Street was not sanded, but fortunately everyone arrived there safely.

I have to say that I was very disappointed on Saturday afternoon when the storm was well overwith, when I called to find help for an elderly aunt and uncle. Both are old and but one is frail. They endured the night with no heat and needed to find a shelter or at least needed help being relocated. I called the police dept and the fire dept and was told by the fire dept. sorry - no shelters, I asked if there was anyone or volunteers available who could help shovel a path to get them out because they had huge snowdrifts he said nope sorry mam. Very disappointed in response for the elderly.

"...the moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; those who are in the shadows of life; the sick, the needy and the handicapped. " ~ Last Speech of Hubert H. Humphrey

We the People need to relize that government = politicans with nothing but excuses why government was not there to do the job our taxes pay for. Its been comming for years, first it was Katrina, Last years tropical storm, Sandy, and now Emo. Neuman, you should report that issue to the town's web page and notifiy the town council of that. At least those people should have been brought to a nursing home, or Veterans Home to be warm and out of the cold. Each fire station has a generator and heat, they could have been brought there. Shame on our government and local officials
