Bail Hearing Delayed for Richard Perry
Perry's attorney filed a request to dismiss the child molestation charges against the former youth sports coach and school custodian.
The bail hearing for Richard Perry originally scheduled for Jan. 10 has been moved to Jan. 16, according to online court records.
His attorney, Paul DiMaio, filed a motion on Wednesday to dismisss the two first- and two second-degree child molestation charges brought by Rhode Island State Police following Perry's arrest on Dec. 13, the Rhode Island Court Connect website noted.
That motion is also scheduled to be heard on Jan. 16. Until then, Perry remains held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions.
Bristol Police arrested his brother, Jesse Perry, on Jan. 4 on one count each of first- and second-degree child molestation. Jesse Perry also remains held without bail at the ACi, and is due to appear at a bail hearing on Jan. 18.
