BREAKING: 4.5 Maine Earthquake Felt in Rhode Island

The U.S. Geological Survey reports a 4.5 shake near Lake Arrowhead, Maine

 


Small tremors were felt in Rhode Island after a 4.5 magnitude earthquake near Lake Arrowhead, Maine around 7:12 p.m. on Tuesday.

Readers in Patch sites in Greater Boston and New Hampshire are also reporting that residents felt the quake. More information to come as it becomes available.

At about 7:13 pm last evening, was sitting in the living room in Wickdord and felt the house shaking for twenty or so seconds. Knew it had to be a quake. So distinct an earthquake motion.

I completely agree! I was working on my laptop and had the t on in the background...the tv moved after I had felt the ground shimmy - as soon as I saw the tv I knew what it was...freaky!

I totally felt it in Warwick. I thought the furnace was extra rumbly. Now I know what that was!!
