Bristol Wasps Mark Another Year of Finding Their Wings

The team — just two years removed from a winless season — this year captured the U-10 Frostbite Championship over the winter.

Another year of experience and growth has helped the Bristol Wasps U-10 indoor soccer squad to their best finish, a victory in the recent Frostbite Championship.

Only two years ago, the local booters finished without a win for the season; last year, the squad finished one win away from the Session 2 crown, Coach Peter Squatrito explained during a recent interview.

Squatrito, who's watched his son, Christian, advance through the younger age brackets leading to the Under-10 division, also said he's seen his squad grow into better players — and a team.

"They got a little bit better each year — they learned that you have to pass, you have to play defense, you have to stop the goals, and each year, they started getting it more and working as a team instead of just kicking the ball and running as fast as you can after it," Squatrito explained.
