Bristol Police and rescue officials responded to an accident on Metacom Avenue in the area of Sherman Avenue in Bristol on Thursday morning.

At approximately 8:50 am police were seen loading a red passenger vehicle onto a tow truck. The car had sustained significant damage to the front and rear ends of the vehicle.

Debris from the accident was scattered accross the road and police were re-routing traffic away from the scene. Police were also re-routing traffic down a side road to Route 114 north of the accident in Warren.

It is unknown at this time how many people were involved in the crash or the extent of injury.
