Crestwood Nursing Home Nurse Charged with Abusing a Patient

A registered nurse recently plead nolo to charges of abusing a patient at a local nursing home.

A Warren resident who was accused of abusing a patient at Crestwood Nursing Home last year recently pleaded nolo to his charges.

According to Warren police, the department received a complaint from Newport Hospital in August of 2010 regarding an elderly male with injuries who claimed to have been assaulted by his nurse at Crestwood.

Pending an internal investigation at the nursing home and an investigation by police, David Ficorilli, 45, of 510 Child St., in Warren, was formerly charged with abusing a patient on Oct. 13, 2010. After the close of the investigation, the results were sent on to the Attorney General's Office. The office reviewed the results and handed down a secret indictment.

Ficorilli was subsequently charged by the Attorney General's Office and the . Ficorilli was seen in court where he plead nolo to one count of patient abuse. He was given a two years suspended sentence and two years of probation. In addition, Ficorilli must complete 100 hours of community service and attend anger management counseling.
