Do You Remember Backroad Grille?

This week's location to get your wheels turning is Backroad Grille in Bristol.

Businesses come and go in every state and town. But how far back can you remember?

Backroad Grille is conveniently located on the Metacom Avenue strip. Today, Backroad Grille offers a casual dining and bar atmosphere in addition to a banquet room for holidays and parties. But think further back and try to remember what other businesses inhabited this location that you may have frequented in past decades.

Post your memories in the comments section below.

In the 60's was called The White Rail. Had a live band and dinner on weekends.
Used to host wedding receptions. Romano family ran this restaurant, best in town.

Yes, the White Rail. I remember going to weddings there as a small girl.
I also remember the wonderful Chinese restaurant. Delicious food.

In the rear of the building (now Peter Rd) was the King Phillip Bake Master, where clamboils were held.

And now Backroads Grille has closed! A big loss for Bristol. I liked going there.

Very sad. Just drove by and saw the for sale sign. They had great good, reasonable prices and excellent service. I moved out of the area and couldn't make it there that often lately. Wish I could have gone more often. Thank you Squatritto's for giving us a few years to share with you. Good luck with your future endeavors.

Just drove by the old Backroad Grill (heading toward Warren) and the sign fell off revealing the old Cathay Dragon sign! Super nostalgic! Take a glance before it's gone! Same with the construction on the old Jade Tree Jon Warren- the construction has revealed the words "Ice Cream" on the exterior of the building. Treasures from the past!

I remember that place in Warren, Wasn't it called Tasty Freeze? They had little juke boxes on each table. Also wasn't it once MIcheletti'e restaurant after the ice cream placed closed? Of course, I could be totally wrong! Anyone remember?
