Do You Remember Before Metro Diner?
This week's location to get your wheels turning is Metro Diner in Warren.
Businesses come and go in every state and town. But how far back can you remember?
Metro Diner moved in to town exactly three years ago, on August 1, 2008. The Diner, located at 440 Child St., in Warren, is well known for their delicious breakfast dishes and their "Pancake Challenge" where customers are dared to eat three huge pancakes to get their five seconds of fame and their meal for free. But think further back and try to remember what other businesses inhabited this location that you or your parents may have frequented in past decades.
Post your memories in the comments section below.

Wayyyy back, when I was little, this building was Bo Jamiel's vacuum store. When I was a teen it was the first location of Rosemary's school of dance.

In the sixties it was an A&W drive-in Root Beer stand with young ladies who served you at your car using roller skates. The big trays, the music and best of all, the root beer floats.

I believe it was built as an A & W Root Beer stand. I recall driving up and a waitress would come over to the car and take your order (s). They would bring it out to you on a tray that they attached to your driver's side window. They had the best hamburgers and root beer. There is still a similar A & W on route 44 in Greenville, RI. You drive up and flash your headlights and they'll come out and take/deliver your order.

It was built and operated as a A & W Root beer stand. I was the first car hop hired there and it was not easy carrying the trays to the car when the parking lot was dirt and full of holes. And lets not forget about chasing after the cars that drove away with the trays still hooked up to the door. Roller skates were not used because the pavement was dirt.
