Drop Off Your Hazardous Wastes
An Eco-Depot hazardous waste collection day for the East Bay is Saturday at the Warren DPW from 8 to 1.
An Eco-Depot hazardous waste collection day for East Bay residents will be held Saturday, June 9, in Warren.
“It’s open to everyone in Warren, Barrington and Bristol,” said Rep. Jan Malik of Barrington/Warren, who scheduled the drop-off along with Sen. Walter Felag Jr. of Warren/Bristol/Porstmouth.
The drop-off location is the Department of Public Works facility at 21 Birch Swamp Road. Hours are 8 am to 1 pm.
You can bring all of your oil-based paints, lawn chemicals, solvents, fertilizers, pesticides, anti-freeze, motor oil, mercury, batteries, car batteries, light bulbs, propane tanks and other hazardous materials to the DPW facility.
Eco-Depot is a free service of the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation. Safely disposing of hazardous waste helps to protect waterways, soil and households from accidental contamination.
By using the Eco-Depot program, you can also extend the life of the Central Landfill in Johnston and reduce the toxicity of trash deposited there.
Here are directions to the Warren facility if you don't have a GPS: Take Route 136 (Market Street) in Warren. Follow to Birch Swamp Road from the north and turn left or to Schoolhouse Road from the south and turn right. Follow Schoolhouse Road to Birch Swamp Road and turn left.
