Football Game Gets Spooky Visitors

A "Haunted Flash Mob" took parents and fans by surprise when it crashed the Midget East Bay Warriors football game on Saturday night.

East Bay Warriors Football players, family and friends got a spooky and entertaining surprise during Satuday night's midget football game when the dance team waddled on the field to perfrom a special haunted flash mob dance.

At half time, dozens of people creeped their way onto the field with white painted faces, torn clothes and fake blood stains. The voices heard in the background of the video posted on facebook by onlooker Yvonne Ramos proved that the crowd was truly surprised and unsure what to make of the eerie sight. Once the "zombies" took center field, they proceeded to entertain the crowd with their haunted dance moves.

Sherry Winn, owner of and coach of the East Bay Warriors Pop Warner Dance team organized the surprise event with about 40 dancers. She said the idea started off as something for team building for the dance team but it soon grew as more people found out and wanted to get involved. Winn said moms, kids, dancers, non-dancers, cheerleaders and friends all decided to participate, dressed as zombies, for the flash mob.

The crew of participants practiced the routeine four times prior to the game to make sure it would be the perfect surprise performance. Winn says the theory behind a flash mob is that no one knows where it is going to take place unless they are participating, which makes it that more exciting.

"It was a huge success!" Winn said after the game. Winn says there may be another flash mob in the works for the future, but her lips are sealed as to when and where you may see her next.
