Former Warren Police Chief Thomas Gordon is the new permanent Warren Town Manager, a job he has held on an interum basis since last December, eastbayri.com reports.

The Warren Town Council voted unanimously last week to keep Gordon in the position he stepped into when former Town Manager C. Richard Paduch resigned late last year.

The town received more than 20 resumes for the position, narrowing the list down to two — Gordon and Dan Coffman, of Newark, Ohio — before making its final decision Thursday.

Gordon said he plans to continue focusing on economic development in Warren and work closely with residents to improve the town overall. He added that his administration will be very responsive to residents and work to serve their needs.

"We want to create a productive economic enviornment and maintain the safe environment the people of Warren are used to," Gordpon said. "Warren is blessed to have very skilled and telented employees. I look forward to working with them to make Warren better every day."

The council also voted to hire Ross Latham as Town Treasurer. Latham, who ised to work in the Warren treasurer's office, has been working in a similar position in Portsmouth.
