Local Group Springs for Cats

The group raises $11,000 to benefit feral cats in Rhode Island.

More than 80 guests enjoyed music and cocktails at the third Annual Spring for Cats Party at the Newport Elks Lodge last month, raising fnds to support stray cats.

The party included a silent auction and raffles to benefit PawsWatch Feral Cat Rescue. All proceeds provide spay/neuter surgeries and veterinary care to feral cats in Rhode Island. The event brought in $11,000 for feral cats in Rhode Island.

PawsWatch is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to helping Rhode Islanders provide spay/neuter and vaccinations for feral cats, and has provided critical veterinary care to more than 14,000 feral cats since it was founded in 1997. Additional information is available at www.alleycat.org, the national leader of Trap-Neuter-Return-Monitor (TNRM.)
