Making the Holidays Brighter for East Bay Kids
Some 380 local kids will get a bit of Christmas cheer this year, courtesy of the dedicated volunteers who organized the "Giving Tree' toy distribution at the East Bay Food Pantry.
On Wednesday morning, Dec. 19, a small team of volunteers readied piles of gifts for distribution to local families and their children from the Franklin Court Community Center, above the East Bay Food Pantry Franklin Street in Bristol.
Kara Rocha, Lauren Martel, and Nicki Tyska — who led the effort among about 10 local businesses, and purchased some of the gifts for the drive — were making final preparations before opening the doors of the center at 11 am.

Dyan Vaughan, who alerted Bristol-Warren Patch to the event, explained that the trio "went above and beyond this year, taking care of many kids themselves."
Vaughan estimated that 380 local children will be receiving gifts through the efforts of Rocha, Martel, and Tyska.
