The Mt. Hope Huskies Baseball team is riding a three game winning streak heading into a key cross over match up against Juanita Sanchez on Friday.
The Huskies began the longest winning streak of the season with a 7-2 victory against Rogers. Bruce Marshall had two hits, two walks; Brent Millard had three runs batted in and Josh Hunt homered to lead the Huskies offense. Jeremy Securo pitched well for the Huskies, giving up only one earned run.
The Huskies received a strong pitching performance from Cody Stanzione en route to a 9-3 victory against Scituate. Stanzione went the distance, striking out six. The Huskies offense was led by Brent Millard who had 2 hits, a walk, scored twice and stole 3 bases; Jared Ramos had a two-run home run for Mt. Hope. Stanzione also had two hits and a run batted.
The Huskies moved the winning streak to three games with a 13-2 victory against Davies. Josh Marabello was had 3 hits and drove in two, Matt Natale, Kyle Mello, Cody Stanzione and Bruce Marshall each had multiple hit games for the Huskies. Mello, Natale and Jared Ramos each drove in two runs; Mello also scored twice. The Huskies received solid pitching from Joe Simeone and Brent Millard.
The Second Annual Mt. Hope High School Baseball Alumni Game will be held on May 20, 2012 at 11 am at Guiteras Field. All former players from Bristol High School, Warren High School or Mt. Hope High School are welcome to participate. The cost is $25.00 for a t-shirt and to play in the game or $15.00 for a t-shirt. All proceeds will go to the Mt. Hope High School baseball program. Coach Marshall and Coach Millard, Great job with the boys!!!! I have fond memories of coaching with and against you in KPLL. Many of these kids were there then too. Keep up the great work and you kids work hard !!!!
