Mt. Hope Hosts First Annual Alumni Wrestling Match Fundraiser

On Friday, March 23, Mt. Hope Wrestling Team will host the First Annual Alumni Match at at 7pm

Members of the Wrestling Team will be testing their technique against wrestling team alumni from the Bristol and Warren High Schools. Alumni and current Mt. Hope wrestlers will be matched up according to weight class to see who will have the final bragging rights.

Tournament talk is already heating up the Mt. Hope Wrestling team Facebook page with comments about who will come out on top. Former wrestlers Mark Rhynard and Steve Martel were just a few of the participants that used the team's Facebook page to comment back and forth about Friday's match.

Mark: What are the matchups?

Steve: Mark does it matter? At the end of 30 sec. we will all be in the fetal position signaling time out.

Alumni wrestlers will include Scott Pellerin, Mr. Spence, Eric Francis, Steve Martel, Tom Lombardo, Zachary Ziobro, Ben Arruda, Chris Drance, Jay Grifka, John Teixeira, Eric Labrie, Nathan Webster, Corbin Rodrigues, Mark Luther, Jordan Almeida, Steve O’Donnell, just to name a few. The match will also feature special coaching appearances by Sam Hutchison and Byron Kee.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. All proceeds will benefit the Mt. Hope wrestling team and their efforts for a successful 2012-13 season.
