Obituary: Yolanda Canna
The lifelong Bristol resident will be laid to rest Monday, Sept. 24.
Yolanda E. (Soldano) Canna, 86, of 117 Beach Road, Bristol, died peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Silver Creek Manor, Bristol, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of Domenic C. Canna, her husband of 65 years. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Anthony M. and Concetta (Autieri) Soldano.Mrs. Canna was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Bristol, Class of 1944. A homemaker, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the Hope Circle #70, Daughters of Isabella in Bristol. Yola was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels for many years. A devoted wife and mother, Yola taught by example, being kind and loving, always learning and having fun.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Robert L. Canna and his wife, Jennifer, of Vancouver, WA; two daughters, Janet E. Beauvais and her husband Richard of Narragansett, and Sandra J. Brooder and her husband Wayne of Westport, MA; one sister, Eleanor Mancini of Conway, SC; 10 grandchildren and three great grandsons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard D. Canna, and four sisters, Mary Volpe, Victoria DiPalma, Dorothy Parisi and Rose Browning.
Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, Monday, Sept. 24, at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Sunday, Sept. 23 from 2-6 p.m.
