Parts of Hope Street Closed to Traffic
Traffic will be diverted away from the area around 10 Hope St. for up to two weeks as works complete utility and culvert work.
Parts of Hope Street in Bristol will be closed to all traffic for up to two weeks, beginning Friday morning.
As part of the Tanyard Brook project, utility and culvert work needs to cross the road near 10 Hope St. In order to accomplish this, Hope Street traffic needs to be detoured.
Beginning this Friday, August 24, at 7 a.m., the following detour will be put into effect:
- Northbound Route 114 will be detoured from Ferry Road to Wood Street, Wood Street to Constitution Street, then continue north on Hope Street.
- South Bound Route 114 (currently diverted to Thames Street) will be detoured to Constitution Street, to Wood Street, then south on Wood Street to 114 South.
Emergency vehicles will be unable to travel through the work zone. The detour will be in place 24 hours a day until the utility and culvert work isfinished. The trench near 10 Hope St. will be large and impossible to be plated. Weather permitting, the detour should last about 2 weeks.
