Photos: Local Family's Annual Egg Hunt Draws Crowd
One Bristol family goes all out for Easter, hosting an extravagant Easter Egg Hunt attended by more than 100 families.
While many families attend town-hosted egg hunts or hide their own for their children, one Bristol resident goes above and beyond to host her own egg hunt for more than 100 children.
For the last seven years Cindy Osmanski, with the help of her husband and two children, have hosted annual egg hunts for neighbors, friends, family and members of St. Luke's School.
Every year Osmanski says the number of families and children that attend gets larger and larger, and this year has been no different. To keep up with the increasing amount of children, Osmanski spends more long hours stuffing plastic eggs with candies and prizes. This year, Osmasnki and her family stuffed 2,300 eggs and teamed up with a neighbor who allowed her to utilize their property to hide eggs as well.
"We have sections for each age group so the big kids and the little ones aren't fighting for the same eggs," Osmanski said. "And this year we added a peanut free section for anyone with a peanut allergy."
Osmanski says she plans and works on the event for weeks, but when all is said and done, the effort is worth it to see families have a great time.
