RI Braces for Another Storm

A nor'easter could drop 1 to 2 inches of rain late Wednesday into Thursday and bring damaging wind gusts along the coast.

A little more than a week after 'superstorm' Sandy swept through the Northeast, Bristol and Warren residents may have to brace for another windy, rainy night on Wednesday.

A nor'easter could blow into the area mid-week and the storm could drop 1 to 2 inches of rain from Wednesday into Thursday, according to WHDH meteorologist Jeremy Rainer.

Rainer also wrote that coastal winds could gust between 40 and 60 miles per hour along the coast, although winds "will be much lighter inland with this storm."

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued ahazardous weather outlook statement on Sunday afternoon, saying that strong to damaging northeast winds are likely especially across Rhode Island and Eastern Massachusetts late Wednesday into at least Thursday.

It'll be a chilly rain, too: The forecast is for a high near 46 on Wednesday and a low around 40 on Wednesday night, followed by a high near 48 on Thursday and a low around 38 that night.
