Tuesday: Kindergarten Orientation, Isolated Thunderstorms Possible

Here are five things you should know today in Bristol and Warren.

 
  1. There will be isolated thunderstorms today with a high of 83 degrees.
  2. The Bristol Technical Review Committee meets today,once at 9:30 am for a petition by a couple who wants to have horses on their Wood Street property (near Ferry) and another meeting at 10 am for a Greylock Road property.  The Bristol Citizens Property Revaluation Study Committee meets at 7 pm.
  3. School starts one week from today in the Bristol Warren Regional School District!  Colt-Andrews School holds a kindergarten parent-child orientation today. Kickemuit Middle School holds a social for new students and families Thursday night at 6 pm, and Mt. Hope High School also has an orientation for freshmen of the Class of 2016 Wednesday night at 5:30 pm.
  4. The George Hail Library book club, Books on Main, will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 6:30 pm to discuss, compare and contrast Last Man in Tower by Aravind Adiga and The House I Loved by Tatiana de Rosnay.  All are welcome to attend.
  5. Also on Wednesday, the adult Summer Reading Program at Rogers Free Library concludes with Dinner and a Book Chat at 6 pm.
