Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

What Are You Thankful For?

What means the most to you on Thanksgiving?

This Thanksgiving, Patch wants to know what you are thankful for.

Betty Mulligan, a Patch user, wrote on Facebook to tell us she is thankful for a number of things.

She wrote, "[I'm thankful for] my daughter's health; the 18 years of companionship I had with my recently deceased cat, Whitesox; All friends, FB and non-FB!"

Cynthia Lachapelle Shannon a frugal blogger on Patch, also wrote on Facebook saying that she is very thankful that her family is, for the most part, healthy and happy.

Marina Peterson of the East Bay Patriots sent in a Letter to the Editor to tell us what she is thankful for. The following is what she said.

As Thanksgiving draws near our thoughts turn to events/persons in our lives that we are thankful for. As one of the "East Bay Four" who has been accused by the directors of the BCWA of the horrific crime of asking too many questions, I am thankful for the following:

For the original members of the Bristol Patriots Citizens Watch committee that had its first meeting early in December of 2010 to discuss moving forward in conjunction with OCG and RISC.
For all of those who worked so hard to make our January forum a huge success, and the kick-off for what has happened since.
For Operation Clean Government and Rhode Island Statewide Coalition for their strong letter of support which appeared in this week's local papers and will appear in the Providence Journal.
For Barrington Town Council member Bill DeWitt who has been the lone voice in looking for answers to key issues at the BCWA from the moment he was elected to the Barrington Town Council.

For fiery Scott Lial, Warren Town Council member who is not afraid to ask probing questions.
For Tony Teixiera, Bristol Town Council member and chair of the sub-committee that was formed to look into the statutes that created the BCWA and how they can be amended.
For new Bristol director Joe Demelo who has the integrity and strength to force the public discussion necessary to make changes in the BCWA.
For all of the "silent majority" who have come forth "en masse" to thank each of us personally for our involvement.
For Ray Palmieri, Warren resident, who is vigilent about attending all meetings and asking pertinent questions when necessary.
And of course, to all of those who regularly add their comments on the Patch articles.
My sincerest thanks to you all, and best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving.

Marina Peterson
