What Woud You Put Here?
New England Kitchen and Bath is moving. What should fill the Hope Street space?
New England Kitchen and Bath Center at 681 Hope St., Bristol, is pulling up its stakes and moving next door to Warren, leaving a big storefront in downtown Bristol open for bidders.
Surrounded by a mix of shops, restaurants, a library and a museum, all in a convenient pedestrian environment on historic Hope Street, the New England Kitchen and Bath building — moving to 1 Industrial Road, Warren — is sure to attract some attention from potential tenants.
But what would be best in that space? Should it be a retail store, a new restaurant or some kind of entertainment facility? What other possibilities are there? Put on your thinking caps and give us your best suggestion for what should go in the New England Kitchen and Bath building in the comments section below.

Didn't there used to be a gift shop there long time ago?

Well we certainly don't need another over priced restaurant, bar or cutsie little tourist trap shop with a handful of minimum wage jobs. Something different would be nice. That will require thinking outside of the box

We could definitely use an Italian Market in one of these towns..great idea. I paid an arm & a leg for some home made sausage at a meat market in Barrington last week & it didn't even come close to to anything I could get up the hill and it's cheaper up there too..Would love somewhere close by to get fresh meats & pastas & pastries all in one spot.

I would love to see a bike/repair shop open. Great spot so close to bike path and a better location than the Warren shop I can never get to.

A sports shop with boating---golf ---and tennis equipment and clothing Even second hand equipment would be nice . It would help the children in town who want to start a new sport. People could bring in their old golf clubs etc. etc. to give to the children at a small fee. Rollie

It could be a tie between a bike shop and other sports as mentioned earlier, for all the young people, miss the shop that used to be down State St., or a good Italian market equal to one's on Federal Hill with reasonable prices!

Well, I know the owner would like a rental that adds value and quality to downtown Bristol. The owner is from Bristol and has turned down a number of renters she does not see as a good fit for our town. Put the word out, great location for the right business. Call 253-0100
