Who's Bristol and Warren's Person of the Year?
TIME magazine named President Obama their person of the year for the second time. Tell us who you think should win from our towns!
On Dec. 19, Time magazine named President Obama their Person of the Year — again.
The magazine invited votes on 40 candidates, including the president, Gabby Douglas and Kim Jong Un. Other options included The Mars Rover and the Higgs Boson Particle, Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi, and Apple CEO Tim Cook. But, the president took the title again four years after he first won the award as president-elect in 2008.
But who cares about the same-old, same-old?
Who is the Person of the Year for Bristol and Warren — the man or woman who, in Timespeak, “most influenced the news this year for better or worse”?
Tell us your pick in the comment section below!

My vote is for Anna Znosko of Barrington. She works endlessly and is always concerned for everyone else. She is involved with the Avon walk for cancer, and was responsible for organizing purchases of gifts for 20 boys at Phoenix House. The woman has no real "spare time," but these are the types of things she does in addtion to managing the office at Farmer & First, P.C. CPA's.
Thank you Anna - M. Hughes

I'm going with all of the Volunteer Firefighters and EMS personnel of Bristol and Warren. Since I recieve a paycheck for this service I will not include myself in this post. I know first hand how long hours of training, meetings, and responding to calls they put into protecting us all. So, if we are going to start with a "Person of the Year", I think this is an excellent place to start!

I agree with you Chief! The dedication and effort of the membership between both Volunteer communities far surpasses the commitment of any individual in the respective communities.

My vote is split. First I think Deana Lepage Viera of La Vida Dance & Fitness should be nominated. She dedicates herself to others well-being. True, it is a business, but the special fund raising events she holds at a non profit for herself, plus the tags for Christmas (she leads here) is amazing. People come from Ea. Providence and Newport, perhaps further to experience her leadership and motivation and wonderful dance/exercise routines, as many as 200 in one class....that is extraordinary.
Second would be the Elks in Bristol. There are many fund raising and special events run by volunteers to benefit others. I'm proud to be an Elk. Not one person but so many who give selflessly.

How about the anonymous victim of Rick Perry that showed the courage to come forward. Everyone will soon see the justice he put in motion for 30 plus years of victims who happen to be your neighbors, your firemen, your delivery men and women, the people who serve our food, your contractors etc etc. The list goes on. If this victim is a stretch, how about Steve Contente for taking up the interest of re-opening the investigation

If I had to pick just one person from Warren then it would be Chief Al, who who has always gone above and beyond his job discription. God , he must work over 16 hours a day, seven days a week. It is time that he gets the regonition he deserves.

Have to agree Bob. Al and his family have given to the town of warren for decades and decades. He is one of the most unselfish people I have ever known or had the pleasure to work with many years ago. I do not live in warren but he would surly be my choice.

I would vote for Tony Teixiera. He has an integrity and common sense approach to facing problems that is not often found in our public officials. By his overwhelming victory in the recent race for Town Administrator in Bristol he has shown that he has the support of the Bristol people. They want to see change! They want transparency! They want someone who is fair and honest. Tony gets my vote for Bristol's person of the year.

Thanks, I can't stop laughing. It's great. Wow, we should start a post of who should not get the honor.
Believe me, I'm still laughing.

Why are we always lumping Bristol & Warren together like they are one community? Just curious....
