What's Happening This Weekend in Bristol and Warren?

A fundraiser for the Bristol Animal Shelter, a book sale, a great performance at the Stone Church Coffeehouse, and writing workshops are all on the schedule this weekend.

You just knew it couldn't last forever — the excellent spring weather of the last week or so has given way to a weekend forecast of partly sunny skies and the threat of rain. Still, the rain should hold off long enough to get out to some of the outdoor activities on the slate for Bristol and Warren — and there are plenty of indoor things happening to dodge the drops. The Franco Coli Award winning troupe from Mt. Hope High School serenaded participants on Apr. 25.

Among the many attractions during the Apr. 25 kick-off for ART Night Bristol Warren were performances by the Mt. Hope Masqueraders, who used the event as a warm-up to their upcoming shows of Hello Dolly! set for May 9 through 12 at Mt. Hope High School. Jane Carney, lead photographer for the drama group, explained in a recent email that the ensemble performed "Put on Your Sunday Clothes" at Rogers Free Library and Alta Luna Gallery "for a very grateful audience" before taking the trolley to Cutler Mills in Warren to end the night. "All in all, the cast feels the night was very fun, eventful and a great chance to get the word out about our upcoming show," Carney wrote.
