Bristol 4th Best of Show Photo of Lake Louise???

Bristol 4th Best of Show Photo of Lake Louise??? What happened?

For as long as I can remember, the Bristol 4th of July Photo Contest was open to Bristol residents and their photos of Bristol. This year, something funny happened.

Up until about four weeks before the judging of this year's winners, the contest rules clearly stated that the photos must be taken by residents within the town of Bristol. Then that phrase disappeared without any notice that I or associates saw.

So now we have a Best of Show that has nothing to do with Bristol, and nothing to do with the spirit of the 4th of July. What's up? How did that happen?

Why all of a sudden the change? And with all due respect to Maureen Krupa, her photos have nothing to do with Bristol. So, as a result, we now have a photo of a lake outside of the United States as The Best of Show. It's a nice picture, but ... Canada?

Please, Bristol 4th Committee, please return to photos of Bristol, by residents of Bristol. Keep it here like it always was.

Clearly the rules changes were quietly changed. Why? We'll probably never really know. However, we can ask that the old rules be reinstated.

As a local photographer (Warren not Bristol) I whole heartedly age with Lane. I think the 4th committee for this contest really missed the boat on this one. The 4th of July photo contest should be about the 4th of July in BRISTOL not Canada. Every time I would walk by the display in years past I would always look to see what people entered and how it represented the 4th of July in Bristol. I have no problem with the photo as a piece of art but it does not represent the spirit of what this contest is about. Would they ever consider a Miss 4th of July from Canada?

Never mind corrected, why have we not received a reason for why it was picked.
Why are these people hiding. Is the winner related to someone on the comittee.

Many things have changes for the 4th of July holiday in Bristol. Why? Everything was working just fine. I love photography absolutely love it. But no more will I enter any more contests in Bristol. I live on High Street and it has always made me very very happy to show my patriotic pride, enter the photography contest and decorating my home. My husband is a 25 year veteran of the National Guard and we are a very proud American family. I have decided not to enter the photography contest or our home in the Bristol decorating contest because I have been really snubbed the past couple of years by the "its all who you know clause". I was very very hurt. I worked very very hard on my house, right down to having a Betsy Ross maniquin rocking in a rocking chair sewing the american flag on my porch. A proud American soldier proudly wearing his uniform, Of which I was helped to construct them by friends throughout Bristol.(a torso here a maniquin there, or a head. (Thanks Bob) Hence my point. Bristol, friends, family, and enjoying the meaning of American Freedom. Well I have downscaled my home this year but I still think its beautiful and have decided to keep doing this for my family, my friends and for the people of Bristol to enjoy! I cant be hurt with the "Its all who you know clause if I dont get my hopes up right? I mean Im not saying its everyone who runs this town is like this but ugghh come on. A picture of Canada? Happy 4th of July Bristol. I am very proud to call you home.

Will the people who picked the winning photo, please come forth and answer for heir wrong. To pick a picture of a Lake in Canada is absurd. What the hell does it have to do with being patriotic, or anything that the Fourth Of July celebration stand for. Whats next, a picture of an Outhouse in Mexico, drapped with flowers.
