School's Starting; What About the Budget?

In less then three weeks, the Bristol-Warren School District will open its doors. As it does so, what will leaders do about the money shortage that exsists due to the level-spending that the residents of Warren voted on?

When will it be known that budget cuts were made, or that Bristol is taking Warren to court over money past due. And if we go to court and lose, where will we get the money from and who willl pay the court cost?

Remember, the residents of Warren were told by its council that it would not cost us anything to fight the right to level-spend. Where are we with the school budget at this time? Weigh in in the comments section below.

Bobby, It pains me to have to answer your blog. But I feel it's necessary. First, why would you borrow trouble and resurrect this issue. Apparently it's not that big of a problem for the School Dept. yet, because classroom assignments were sent out, telling me they intend to move forward with the school year with a budget similar to the one they had last year..."No big deal". If they find their short money, they will probably tap into their "Surplus Account". Yes Surplus Account!. then most likely next year will need to have their budget supplemented. As far as cuts go, ask the School Administration. You'll probably find things are status quo. As far as the so called law suit, well if they are planning one, and they haven't submitted it yet then shame on them for waiting for the school year to almost start. But logic tells me that they probably won't. If they didn't want the "Town" to have the numbers, one would be led to believe that they probably don't want Lawyers combing through their books under a court ordered Audit. At that point it's no holds barred for them, they would have to allow things that normaly aren't seen by outsiders, get to be viewed. Either way it's better that all is quiet. Your questions indicate to me that you would rather have turmoil rite now rather than things just being civil. Don't worry either way this is going to raise it's ugly head next financial year. Just be patient you'll be able to give them your hard earned money next year.

John, sorry for the pain, but your answer was excellent, with one exception. The last sentence. Now I have the pain!
