Any local New England U2 fan having seen the cover band The Joshua Tree would be hard pressed to leave humming “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”  The Joshua Tree is four reasonably calm and yet talented musicians who perform the greatest hits of the Irish rock band U2. 

It is this writer’s opinion that their stage presence is unconsciously similar to the visibly serene members of the band they are imitating. Their musical talents are in full form on a wide range of U2 hits. From the pounding and dark “Bullet the Blue Sky” to the soulful “With or Without You” to the rocking “Elevation,” The Joshua Tree performs at a very high level of imitation. 

I have seen them in small venues such as the Newport Blues Café as well as on the seas of Boston Harbor and they sound fantastic.  The band does a great job of mixing classic songs with some B-side mysteries as well as the pop hits every U2 fan is accustomed to hearing.  The music is crisp and dance-worthy.  Don't be surprised to be singing "All I Want Is You" after seeing them just once.
