The program inc ludes an informal meet and greet followed by an interactive question a nd answer section. Coffee and donuts will be served. Common Cause Rhod e Island is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization dedicated to the pro motion of representative democracy by ensuring open\, ethical\, accoun table and effective government processes at the local\, state and nati onal levels by educating and mobilizing the citizens of Rhode Island.& nbsp\; In addition to being the only good government group in the stat e with a full time lobbyist at the State House to monitor fair and ope n political processes\, we support community and State House-based edu cational programs to expand the capacity of citizen lobbyists and keep the public informed about issues of process in government. In 2012\, two of our bills passed that expand the public's access to government records and strengthen our state's campaign finance disclosure. Our to p policy priority for 2013 is ethics reform\, a constitutional amendme nt to bring the General Assembly back under the jurisdiction of the Et hics Commission.
