"Palm Beach Bash" Gala
Warwick’s Crowne Plaza Pavilion, 801 Greenwich Ave. Warwick, RI 02886 will be transformed into the sophisticated tropical atmosphere of Palm Beach for a celebration honoring The Autism Project’s 15 years of service as the state’s leading Autism Support Center. The event will take place Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 6:30 pm.
U. S. Senator Jack Reed, autism activists, friends and family, and other notables will gather to celebrate the growth and accomplishments of The Autism Project and to honor Doug and Laurie Flutie, founders of the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, Inc with the 2012 Alice Oster Service Award.
Gene Valicenti, NBC 10 News Anchor, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for a series of events including a live auction, music and dancing with live music performed by the popular band ‘Tribeca.’ Event sponsors are Hasbro; Alex & Ani; Edwards, Wildman & Palmer, LLP and Gilbane Co. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
Funds raised by the event will support programs designed to assist children, teens and young adults with Autism and their families and care givers. The Autism Project impacts over 10,000 RI residents per year including individuals with Autism and Asperger Syndrome, family members, school and medical personnel, and community members.
Thousands of RI families are dealing with Autism, a neurological disorder with profoundly affects on individuals and families. The Autism Project is non-profit organization whose mission is to develop comprehensive systems of care and resources that meet the needs of children, adults and families suffering from autism and Asperger Syndrome. The Autism Project’s support extends to education, health and vocational, career and social community needs
“I am proud of the growth of The Autism Project as we work to improve the quality of life for individuals with an ASD, their families and the professionals involved in caring for and educating them,” said Joanne Quinn, Executive Director of The Autism Project and mother of a child diagnosed with autism.
