5 Things: Beauty and the Beast, Volunteering and Bristol County Water

Five things to know on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in Bristol and Warren.

1. 4. Beauty and the Beast: The Bristol Theatre Company's Children's Theatre presents a cast of more than 60 children in Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr. The players range from ages 6 - 18 years old and come from Bristol, Warren and across the East Bay.
Performances will be Aug. 1 - 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Mt. Hope High School in Bristol. Matinee performances will be at 2 p.m. on Aug. 3 and 4. Tickets cost from $12 - $25. For more information or to make reservations, call the box office at 401-424-1315.

Currently town officials are seeking volunteers to fill vacant positions on the following boards and commissions:

  • Economic Development Board
  • Voluntary Historic Committee - Board of Appeals 
  • Conservation Commission 
3. The Bristol County Water Authority will meet tonight on Wednesday, July 31 at 5:30 p.m. at the Boardroom in the Warren Office, located at 450 Child Street in Warren.
The authority is scheduled to discuss the executive director's compensation as well as an engineering project manager.

5. The East Bay Knitters Club will meet today, Wednesday, July 31, in the Quiet Study Room at the Bristol Public Library, located at 5 High St. Drop in from 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. to share your knitting knowledge.
