At Home and Away, Lots of Mt. Hope High Sports Action

Here are some things to know about today in and around Bristol and Warren.

Here are a few things to know about today, Jan. 24, in and around Bristol and Warren:

  • Mostly sunny with some clouds but continue very cold with a high temperature of around 18 degrees.
  • George Hail Library in Warren is looking for a few good friends who will help to defray the cost of programs, materials and equipment and volunteer for fundraising and other activities. Get a membership application at the library, 530 Main Street, or call 245-7686. Yearly dues are $5 to $10.
  • The Mt. Hope High School boys’ basketball team travels to Burrillville High for a game at 7 pm.
  • The boys’ and girls’ swimming teams at Mt. Hope High School host Classical High at Roger Williams University at 6:30 pm.
  • The Mt. Hope High School girls’ basketball team hosts West Warwick at 6:30 pm. 
  • The Mt. Hope High School boys’ ice hockey team travels to Thayer Arena in Warwick to tangle with the squad from Rogers High at 8 pm. 
  • The Mt. Hope High School girls’ indoor track team travels to the Providence Career and Technical Academy for a 5:30 pm dual meet with Westerly High.
  • The wrestling team at Mt. Hope High School travels to Port Washington, NY, to compete at “The Busby Classic” at Paul D. Schreiber High School.
