Former Shelter Dog Spares Family from Fire

People are calling Romeo, a former Warren shelter dog, a hero.

On Saturday, Romeo, a former shelter dog in Warren, started barking and barking around midnight.

His owner got up, looked out the window and saw a fire in the back yard.

She called 911 and the fire was put out before it could cause any major damage and spread to the house.

Thanks to Romeo, it could have been much, much worse.

The Warren Animal Shelter shared the story on their Facebook page yesterday, stating that Romeo was adopted earlier this month after spending about a year at the shelter.

Today, he's considered a hero.

"Romeo has become our shelter success story. Way to go Romeo we are so proud of you," they said.
