Youth Basketball Coach Charged With Possessing Child Pornography

A coach for a youth basketball club based in Warren has been charged with possession of child pornography, according to the RI State Police. He will be re-arraigned in Sixth District Court tomorrow, Nov. 18.

'Thrill Killer' Released

A Woonsocket man sentenced to spend more than three decades behind bars for the "thrill killing" of a Woonsocket woman in 1999walked out of prison Tuesday a free man, wjar.com reports.

NBA and reality TV star Lamar Odom has been spotted several times this week at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston - his Alma Mater – where URI students say he's been busy hitting the courts at his old gym.

Police Arrest Suspect at Gunpoint, Close Road

A 21-year-old man was arrested at gunpoint Wednesday after police surrounded the area around Motel 6, located at 249 Connell Hwy and shut down part of road for over an hour.

RI Woman Named 'National Rider of Month' 

Wakefield resident Samantha Smith, a sophomore at the University of South Carolina and a member of the school's equestrian team, was named one of four National Riders of the Month by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) earlier this month.

Cranston Police are investigating an overnight tire-slashing spree Wednesday night during which the culprit or culprits slashed tires on 23 cars.
