Newport Loses Another Old Tree to Disease

Four old beech trees in the park next to Newport Public library have had to be cut down due to disease. They were estimated to be about 150 years old.

Warren Murder Suspect Will Be Arraigned

Murder suspect David Sousa of Warren has been extradited from Rhode Island and will be arraigned Tuesday morning, Dec. 31, for the November, 2012 murder of Lisa Mello of Swansea.

Man Finds 'Game' Camera Pointed At His Property

A Barrington man reported to the police that he found a camera attached to a tree on his property. The man, 79, lives on White Birch Lane almost at the tip of Rumstick Point. The camera is believed to be a Primos game camera used by hunters to target deer and other game.

RI Under Storm Warning as Snow Begins to Fall

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of Rhode Island, which most forecasts estimate will see 6-10 inches by noon Friday.

Man Indicted on Charges for Raping Ex-Girlfriend Multiple Times

A Woonsocket Man held at the ACI since Nov. 20 on charges that he repeatedly raped his girlfriend in the presence of her four-year-old son was indicted by The Providence County Grand Jury Thursday.
