Planning Board Gets Update on Plans for Former Tourister Building

Warren Planning Board still waiting for an official application for redevelopment of the former Tourister mill complex.

Developers of the former Tourister mill building on Warren’s waterfront brought the Planning Board up to speed on their plans for the complex on Wednesday night, Dec. 11.

It was not the official presentation of an application, said Town Planner Caroline Wells. That is not expected now until early next year.

It was just another visit by representatives of Tourister Mill LLC, a partnership of Brady Sullivan of Manchester, N.H., and Starr Development Partners LLC of Belmont, Mass., to keep the Planning Board apprised of the project, she said.

The presentation was actually a refinement of the initial proposal for the building, which is to include more than 300 apartments and a first floor of commercial tenants – shops, restaurants and light manufacturers -- when completed in 2015.

The update on Wednesday night did show the addition of a boardwalk along the Warren River, according to eastbayri.com. The developers also said there will be 3 acres of green space and parking inside the building. All of the apartments will be one or two bedrooms, according to eastbayri.com.
