Top Stories of 2012: Bristol and Warren Readers Celebrate Their Towns

Bristol-Warren Patch readers shared their perspective on events and places that make their towns special.

Among the most-read stories this year were calls for local folks to upload their photos to Bristol-Warren Patch — it's a way for our readers to show what they think makes the two towns so special.

Our Neighborhood Gallery collected nearly 200 submissions, including some nice shots of the Bay and a few holiday-themed scenes.

Unsurprisingly, our gallery of submitted photos from the 2012 Fourth of July Parade in Bristol was also a big hit — both for the photographers and our readers.

And when it came time to select a photo that best captured the spirit of summer in Bristol and Warren, nearly 3,600 votes were cast among five submissions — with "My Guys" Fishing by Beth Coccio taking top honors.

We also offered readers their chance to vote for favorite businesses in their towns, and got an overwhelming response — several of our polls seeking community votes finished near the top of our list of most-read stories for 2012.

From our survey on the best auto shop to one on the best place to get a pedicure to polls on the best tax-preparer, best liquor store, and best preschool in the two towns, readers gave some love to their favorite stores and community businesses.
