As a former resident of Warren, I had several issues with the hazardous road and sidewalk conditions all around town. I being a victum of a hit&run incident in Dec 2007 while being pushed in my wheel chair due to the snow/ice over conditions of the sidewalks on Child St. I made several request to town officials for change/repair/upgrade and had little results. Though my efforts did get results, and Child St. did get sidewalk repairs. My request for a Pedestrian Crosswalk at the Job Lot/Metacom Ave intersection was addressed in October 2009 to our state rep and town officials. On the 3rd year this request is still stitting on DOT's "to do list".
The saftey of this crosswalk is forgotten about and the burearacracy kicks in, I put the blame on our town officials because the saftey of the town's citizens is placed on their watch. I gave up fighting with these officials because it was clear they did not care. As the elections come on November 6th please vote for canidate that will listen to the people's agenda and not their own. If the same prevail, I am sure you will be seeing more people leaving town for a safer location.
