5 Things: Unseasonable Warmth

Here are 5 Things to know in Bristol and Warren today.


1.  offers the Blithewold Junior Gardener program, for children in grades 1 to 4, today at 3:45 p.m. The program is designed to get kids outside after school, and to encourage them to have fun playing and learning in the gardens. The program will get young gardeners into the art and science of gardening through hands-on garden projects, tasks, and experiments. 

Cost for the six-week series: $45 for museum members, $50  for on-members. Drop-in fee is $8 for members, $10  for non-members. The fee includes all class supplies.

2. Badminton is not just for kids anymore. Adutls are welcome to play for free today at 7 p.m. at the Community Center, Rockwell Dock off Thames Street.

3. A community yoga class is offered today at 6 p.m. at 223 High St, Bristol. Cost is $7.

4. This day in History, Oct. 15, 1993: Nelson Mandela and F. W. de Klerk were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their work to end apartheid in South Africa.
