The results are in and the winner for the Patch Reader's Choice: Best place to spend a summer stay-cation on the East Bay is Bristol's !

While there are dozens of great places to visit in our tourist-friendly state, readers resoundingly chose Blithewold as the best in the region, as 40 percent of voters gave the mansion their support. Coming in second was Coggeshall Farm Museum, also in Bristol, followed by followed by .

Blithewold is an expansive Queen Ann mansion and garden overlooking Bristol Harbor, preserved in its turn-of-the-20th-century style. The gardens and enclosed woodland feature indigenous plant life, a rock garden and a variety of trees. Blithewold hosts an education summer camp, where children are taught botany, wildlife and environmental preservation.
