Warren GOP Committee Endorses Fung for Governor

The Fung for Governor Campaign today announced that members of the Warren Republican Town Committee voted unanimously on Monday, June 16th to endorse Allan Fung for Governor.  

Warren is now the 16th of Rhode Island’s Republican city and town committees to endorse Fung, joining Burrillville, Cranston, East Greenwich, Exeter, Foster, Middletown, Narragansett, North Providence, Pawtucket, Scituate, Westerly, Newport, Warwick, Glocester, and Woonsocket.  Additionally, the Rhode Island Young Republicans and the Rhode Island Republican Party’s National Committeeman, Steven Frias and National Committeewoman, Carol Mumford both have endorsed Fung. 

Frank Nencka, Chairman of the Warren Republican Committee, acknowledged Fung’s accomplishments and leadership in the City of Cranston in support of the unanimous vote to endorse, stating, “The state’s Republican party has a unique opportunity to elect a strong leader as Governor this November. Mayor Fung is the only candidate who can count successful leadership and a record of accomplishment among his credentials to become Governor. Under Fung’s watch, Cranston has three years with no tax increase, balanced budgets and over 1,000 new jobs. This is what the state needs and this is what Allan Fung will deliver.”

Chairman Nencka also raised concerns about Fung’s opponent, Ken Block by stating, “Mr. Block has not earned the trust of Republican voters, who are skeptical of his history of supporting liberal policies and switching parties.”

Fung thanked the Warren Republican Town Committee for their endorsement stating, “Our accomplishments in Cranston are evidence of what this great state can achieve. By reducing the cost of government, we can balance budgets, lower taxes, and create jobs and bring a better quality of life for Rhode Islanders. I will make Rhode Island a strong economic competitor in the region and declare our state Open for Business.”
