Mottos, Messages and Gem Lore in Victorian Jewelry

Join Historic New England's Associate Curator Laura Johnson at Lippitt House for an illustrated lecture on how nineteenth-century men and women used the meanings of gemstones and the language of flowers to convey messages, both hidden and overt. Victorian jewelry from Providence's Reliable Gold will be on view before and after the lecture.  Light refreshments after lecture.

Admission: $10 per person, $5 Preserve Rhode Island or Historic New England members
