Support Sought for Gary Longo Memorial Gift for Fellow 'Artist'

GoFundMe crowdsourcing website seeks funds for variety of causes and organizations.

Friends of artist Gary E. Longo of Bristol, who died of cancer in September of 2012, are creating a memorial gift to help another Rhode Island resident, student, or "artist" in need of more funding who is pursuing any form of art through education.

Longo is described on GoFundMe.com as “a true artist and a talented soul. He loved to read, write, make music, he loved photography, and dreamed of making a movie one day. He loved all types of art.”

The financial goal of the fundraising campaign is $2,000. GoFundMe reports that $961 has been raised so far.
