Bristol Fourth of July Button Deadline Nears

The deadline for the annual Fourth of July commemorative button contest is Jan. 10.

Have you finished your design for this year’s official Fourth of July commemorative button?

Deadline for entries is next Friday, Jan. 10. 

Entry forms for the competition have been posted in several locations, including the Rogers Free Library, 525 Hope St.; Town Hall, 10 Court St.; all schools in Bristol and the Kickemuit Middle School in Warren, and at 136 Express on Metacom Avenue.

All Bristol children from kindergarten through grade 12 can enter.

There are three categories: K to grade 5; grades 6 to 8, and grades 9 to 12. Each winner will get $50 and an invitation to ride in the 2014 Fourth of July Parade.

There also will be one winner chosen from among the three category winners. That winner will receive an additional $75.
