John F. Arcuri III, 86, of Warren, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sept. 2, 2013. He was the husband of Helen (Rison) Arcuri.
Born in Shinnston, WV, a son of the late Salvatore and Filomina (Mazzi) Arcuri, he was a longtime Warren resident. John was a member of the RI Carpenters Union and the New England Carpenters Union. He served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the SeaBees, a longtime member of TPCC and the Warren Fire Station 6. He enjoyed Twin River, taking cruises, Wrights Chicken Farm, banana splits, and he most loved spending time with his wife going to dinner and his dog Pierre. He loved boating, swimming and living by the water. He was a very proud Papa to his children and grandchildren.
Surviving, wife Helen, daughters, Sandra Binns and her husband Peter of Cranston, Donna Cruz and her husband Joseph, Diane Rodrigues and her husband Michael, and Dale-Ann Aubrey and her companion Ernest Dupuis, all of Warren. Two brothers, Joseph Arcuri and his wife Rosemarie of Cranston, and Frank Arcuri of E. Providence, sisters, Pauline Volpi and her husband Joseph of Cranston and Mary Ricci of E. Providence. Eleven grandchildren, Joe, John and Samantha Cruz, Amanda and Michael Rodrigues, Alexis and Cassandra Aubrey and Mikayla Dupuis, Josef and Alfie Binns and Wendy Boivin, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Father of the late Samuel Arcuri and five late brothers and sisters.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, where the family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Friday 9 a.m., with a service in the Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Donations in his name may be made to the VNS of RI, 1184 East Main Rd, Portsmouth, RI, and Warren FD Station # 6, 106 Touisset Rd.
