Josephine “Jo” Caizzi, 91: Communicant of St. Mary’s Church

The Bristol native passed away on Aug. 27, 2013.

Josephine “Jo” Caizzi, 91, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, in the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Morris J. Caizzi, her husband of 46 years, who preceded her in death in 1992.

Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was the daughter of the late Giacchino “Jack” and Mary Lucy (Balzano) De Felice.

Josephine was a lifelong resident of Bristol. She was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Bristol. She worked for many years at various retail establishments. She spent many years working as an aide at the James L. Maher Regional Center in Bristol. Josephine was a longtime communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Bristol. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and especially enjoyed celebrating Bristol’s Fourth of July.

Josephine is survived by her son, Michael Caizzi and his wife Laurie of Woodbine, Maryland. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Michaela Caizzi and Chelsie Caizzi and several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister Nancy Dennis and her brother Ralph De Felice.

Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.

Visiting hours will be Friday, Aug. 30, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol, RI 02809.
